Astronomy 201 Problem Set 8
Due 6pm Friday,
November 9th (turn in with your exam)
These come from the problems at the end of Chapter 18 in the textbook and since I have not added any new or altered questions, I will just list their book number and the italics title.
8-1: Quantitative Problem #43 -- A Black Hole I? (Hyp-X1)
8-2: Quantitative Problem #45 -- Neutron Star Density
8-3: Quantitative Problem #47 -- The Crab Pulsar Winds Down
8-4: Quantitative Problem #48 -- A Water Black Hole
Note: Since some
people's PS6's have apparently been lost or taken when the graded ones were
circulated in class:
(a) Turn in all exams
and problem sets to the prof
directly at the beginning or end of class lectures and look at the pile making
sure it’s the new and not the old sets!
And
(b) If you don't turn it in during class, turn it in to Dr. Dufour at his office in person or by putting it in the IN ENVELOPE next to his door, or slide it under his door….Rm. 346 HBH!
